SEAL Under Siege

A daring middle of the night Navy SEAL rescue frees Staci Hayes from a Middle Eastern prison. Back in the States for two weeks and recovering from her ordeal, Staci has been processed, debriefed, counseled and everything you might expect after what she’s experienced.  The only thing lacking is that no one will listen, actually listen, to what she is trying to tell them.

In desperation she heads for the local Navy base hoping to find Tristan Sawyer, the lead SEAL in her rescue. Something about her persistence causes him to take her seriously. Her certainty that she’s being followed, the recounting of what she overheard while in prison, and the scrap of paper she managed to conceal before her rescue raises his curiosity. The scrap proves to be a map of the San Diego harbor. Hmmm….

Appointing himself her constant bodyguard, he begins to admire her tenacity and determination not to be overcome by fear. He also begins to find a stirring of emotions he thought were long gone after a bad breakup in the past.  Similarly, Staci finds that latent feelings of not being worthy enough or having anything to offer in a relationship are stirring her heart. They both just want the terrorist threat over and done with so they can go on with their separate lives.

SEAL Under Siege, Liz Johnson’s latest, gives us a lively action packed story complete with just a touch of romance. The interplay of conflicting emotions from past relationships coupled with present cause her characters to be believable and endearing. As always, I look forward to Liz Johnson’s next SEAL team book!
