Warring drug cartels in Panama keep busy trading hostilities. The latest killings have the leader of one plotting the ultimate revenge on his foe: the release of a deadly toxin sure to wipe out the competition. For this task a Ph.D candidate in bioengineering, Jessalynn McCoy, is abducted from the US and hidden away in the drug lord's compound.
SEAL Will Gumble is given the task of locating Jessalynn before Christmas and keeping the toxin from being released. Will he manage to do so? And, will the awkwardness of their former relationship cause problems? After all, he did sort of run away with no explanation.
Tension, secretive forays in the night, revealed miscommunication, and finally rebuilt trust are the mixture of emotions that evolve in this latest adventure by Liz Johnson, Navy SEAL Noel. As with her earlier books in the "Men of Valor" series, we find characters who are strong, capable, and respectful. The dialogue is fun, the pace moves quickly, emotions run high, and the mission has a very satisfying ending, tying in nicely with previous books in the series.
